Social networking site Facebook has launched Facebook Express WiFi internet service in India today ie Thursday, after doing beta testing for nearly a year. Facebook Express WiFi service will be available in Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Meghalaya through 700 hotspot nowadays. Facebook has partnered with 500 local entrepreneurs who will sell these services through physical and online vouchers. The cost of the voucher will be 10-20 rupees per day and 200-300 rupees per month.
Facebook had talked about providing Internet in some of the rural areas of India last year. Right now, the company has introduced Facebook Express WiFi for this service in India. Under the express WiFi project, the aim of Facebook is to provide Wi-Fi hotspot at low prices in rural areas.

Along with this, the company has partnered with Bharti Airtel to launch 20,000 hotspots in India. Facebook Express WiFi consumers will be able to get data in affordable price for the convenience of Sharp Internet, which will help in accessing Internet and Express WiFi networks through digital vouchers.
In addition to the partnership with Airtel, for the express Wi-Fi, the company has partnered with ISP Airjaldi in Uttarakhand, LMES in Rajasthan, Tikona in Gujarat and Shaildhar in Meghalaya.
