Union Electronics and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Friday that India’s digital economy will reach $ 1,000 million by 2021 and we will take advantage of digitization to the common man. Ravi Shankar Prasad said this in a Mindmine Summit, two day conference of Think Tank Mindmine Institute established by Hero Enterprises here.
Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “Digital India is a transformational program. This is a step towards empowering the most backward class. The quality of life of the poor is being improved to create a digital empowerment society. India’s digital economy is going to be worth $ 1,000 million by the year 2021. The country’s IT ecosystem is being strengthened through various initiatives like “Digital India”, “Make in India”, “Startup India” and good governance. ”
Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “We are delivering the benefits of digitization in the hands of common man of the country through various schemes like ‘Small Cities and Rural BPO Scheme’, ‘Digital Village’, ‘Jan Dhan’ etc. Now 1.13 billion Indians have a base and the government has saved Rs 49,000 crore in various subsidies. ‘Digital Village’ is another initiative through which rural India will be educated enough to make cashless transactions with the help of advanced technologies. ”
He said, “We have launched Village BPO scheme which was recently inaugurated in Patna. For this, we had encouraged the establishment of 48,300 seats in each state in proportion to the population of the state, which has been given financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh in the proportion of each seat from the Central Government. In these, 5 percent subsidy will be given to those institutions which will provide employment to more than 50 percent of the women. ”
Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said in the conference, “We need to encourage innovation in the students because they are the real power of India. Through innovation, we can conquer this world. ”
Union Culture and Tourism Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma said, “We are unable to take advantage of the country’s rich heritage and culture and neither are able to present it to the world. Therefore, we are committed to uplift and renovate our museums. Along with this, Yoga and Ayurveda are also successfully taking over the world. ”
He said, “We are planning to organize festivals of India at international places. We have planned to make India a cultural map under the ‘Best Bharat’ Vision. We are promoting cultural exchanges within the states. Currently, the country is ranked 40th in the world competitive index on tourism and culture, with a jump of 12 points. We have taken advantage of soft power through welfare and medical tourism, and foreign revenue has increased by 15 percent. ”
Hero’s Enterprise President Sunilakanta Munjal said, “At a time when gloom in the economy of the world has come to fruition, India is doing better than the rest of the world, but it is not enough for us. We have started working more than the incremental changes since the 1990s, on which we are trying to keep an eye on the last 10 conferences. Today, the system needs to shake, the status quo is no longer acceptable. “
